Dr. George Hedger is currently a visiting scholar at Institute of Biological Chemistry, Academia Sinica. He previously held industry fellowship positions at D. E. Shaw Research and Vertex Pharmaceuticals, where he applied physics-based molecular dynamics simulations to study the atomic level dynamics of a range of biological systems. He received his PhD in 2017 from University of Oxford where he leveraged coarse-grained simulations to study G protein-coupled receptor and receptor tyrosine kinase protein-lipid interactions in Mark Sansom's research group. He will share a range of examples of the application of cutting edge simulations to un-cover biomolecular dynamics and accelerate discovery.
